The group leader

Éric WEHRLI is a polytechnician and 62 years old. He has made his career in research and consulting with numerous scientific publications in space and a patent in the automobile industry. He is the author of short stories (collection ""La mer, imagine…"" published by L'Harmattan and of novels). His serial novel "Mission 1793" is published on his website referenced on Google under the name: Éric writes the sea. He is a regular at writing workshops for young people and adults, which he gives in the Paris region at Malakoff and Apprentis d'Auteuil.

The objective of the internship

It offers for this summer, at the end of June and the beginning of September, internships for the writing of texts ranging from short stories to novel sketches.The prerequisite is a sustained interest in reading and a significant writing ability. The course will consist in acquiring the techniques of storytelling, dialogue and script while trying to acquire a style through personal work based on the facilitator and the group. For greater quality, the workshop will be limited to 5 trainees and will consist of 10 sessions of 2h30 over 5 days or 25 hours in all. Everyone can give themselves a theme following a hobby, the inspiration of the place, … The 5-day course is offered with lunch included, will be held in a charming residence. It is also proposed to stay on site for 4 nights with full board in the Château. See prices below.

COURSE CALENDAR  

• From Sunday June 25 9 a.m. to Thursday June 29 6 p.m.
• From Sunday September 3 9 a.m. to Thursday September 7 6 p.m.

That is 5 days of training at the Château de Fontblachère.

The internship

ONE DAY PROGRAM

Arrived at 9 a.m. in Fontblachère

Workshop: 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Lunch on site (included in course price): 12 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

2 hours of free time for the swimming pool, walks, rest, writing work...

Workshop: from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The place

The course will take place in the orangery of the Château de Fontblachère, a beautiful vaulted room that opens onto the courtyard of the castle, and under the Calabert, an outdoor and sheltered summer lounge, open to the courtyard.
Lunches will be taken in the dining room or in the courtyard depending on the temperature (often pleasant from the month of June).

NOTE: Accommodation is offered at the Château de Fontblachère for the 4 nights during the course at a ""special course"" rate and full board (accommodation and dinner) is possible. Prices are listed below.

SUNDAY JUNE 25

Objective of the workshops

Acquire techniques for writing a short story or an outline for a novel.
Then carry out personal work with the help of the leader and the group.

Course of a 2h30 workshop

The facilitator reads a literary text adapted to the theme of the workshop and makes a writing proposal.
Participants write their text for 40 to 45 minutes.

Tour de table where each of the 5 participants has 15 to 20 minutes to read their text and share comments with the facilitator and the other participants in order to better integrate the concepts and find ways of personal improvement.

Synthesis

SUNDAY JUNE 25 AND MONDAY JUNE 26

We will approach the different writing techniques such as the story, the dialogue, the description of a landscape, a face, how to make a character take shape.

TUESDAY JUNE 27

Sketch of the personal work, with the realization of a plan and a first script.

WEDNESDAY JUNE 28 AND THURSDAY JUNE 29

Construction of elements of his work by increasing complexity.
Story and description, scene with 2 or even 3 characters, text with a story and an atmosphere.

End of the course at 6 p.m.

Possibility of extending the stay in bed and breakfast depending on availability of rooms at the price indicated on the site.

€200 paid on booking and €250 payable on arrival to Éric Wehrli .
